5 Thumbs Down I had 3 sites hosted and purchased a .com through them. What I did to get my .com back was signed up at a different host and transfered my .com to them. I went to www.branicwebhosting.com the transfer cost me $9.00 plus the hosting, but after 1 1/2 months of fighting for my domain name, the $9.00 was well worth it. I am a paying customer and the response to my problem has been next to naught. If moving my entire site wouldn`t be a hassle they would have seen the last of me for quite some time. 5 Thumbs Down Having problems with up-time of my site using Windows server. You can typically expect random outages of 4 to 5 hours. If you create a help ticket, those don`t answered for 6 to 24 hours and live help usually directs you to create a ticket. All help tickets are answered overseas somewhere in the Eastern Bloc. Other than that, they are friendly. It would be a much better company if they really focused on maintaining their servers. I am currently looking elsewhere because I can`t afford the down-time. Unfortunately, by the time I decided to change hosts, they (who were also my registrar) were not answering emails, and had locked the domain. 00bp.com Free Web Hosting
3 Thumbs Down I signed up yesterday for the free service. Right now I don`t have any complaints about the free service, but I do of their apparent dishonesty. They, along with their parent/sister compnay hostingperfection.com- claim that you can upgrade to incredible paid hosting for .01(that`s 1 cent) to .95. 00bp.com says this is the monthly price. However, after asking some questions I found out that it is not the monthly price at all- it`s the price for the first months worth of hosting- then it jumps to the regular price. This is dishonest and deceptive. On either sites you don`t realize that it`s not the monthly price until you click to order. Even then the very low price is listed as what`s going to be charged and then you have to read the small print to realize that that`s the cost for just the first month. I`m sticking right now with the free site, but I`m questioning that as well, because their homepage mentions no ads, no banners, no pop-up`s, but their Terms of Service mentions something else. 5 Thumbs Down First of all, anyone that is hosting websites and not keeping updated backups could be considered somewhat naive and a bit moronic. Relying on a host that you pay $5 a month to keep backups is somewhat silly. They even inform their customers that they are responsible for keeping backups. Redundancy is not offered by this company. If this is what you desire, you might want to look at dedicated hosting. Does anyone know of a shared host that offers redundancy? Whoever said their support was not American must have never called in to the tech support. Their call representatives are all English-speaking, southern people. They are very friendly and usually will go above and beyond in every situation. The last company I was with had all Indian support. Imagine the difficulty of explaining a technical problem with a language barrier! And anyone that is complaining about not being called first because of a script is silly. You want them to wait while to get a hold of YOU while a script on your site overloads the server I am on and ALL my sites are down. Welcome to shared hosting, buddy. Also, I asked about the security information because that one post had me concerned. It turns out that employees only have access to the last 4 of the credit card. You can`t do anything with that. 5 Thumbs Down WORST HOST EVER!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! I have had hosting with these guys for a while now and my website is constantly dropping out. There is downtime atleast 2-3 a week for hours on end. Not only that customer support is terrible. There website (and seperate support website) is also always down whenever in need. DO NOT GET HOSTING WITH THESE GUYS, YOU WILL REGRET IT! They are automatically deducting $$$ every month from my account for dismal service. Now I have to CANCEL MY BANK CARD so that they don`t continue to do this!! 5 Thumbs Down the platform to upload is not straight forward. customer service is like running in circles. starlogic does not live up to its best web hosting spot. if you have or is using starlogic with no problems then you are lucky. when starlogic was converting to a new system, it took forever. they tell they are not going to extend my time due to starlogic`s fault. what a joke. 5 Thumbs Down My sites on my Startlogic VPS were down for 3 days. They didn’t answer trouble tickets or email. When I finally got someone on the phone (30 minutes+ wait time), each time they said they didn’t know what was wrong or when I would be up again. After 3 days they said they had a hardware crash and lost my server. My VPS and the other VPS accounts on my server were gone. I have backups but I don’t have my databases. I have been with them two years, about to upgrade and make it three, absolutely the best service anywhere. Fast responses, many free features you would pay a lot for, get a domain name for a few bucks, get free hosting, or upgrade to a package that is LESS than 48 a year with LOADS of features, only the best in Houston, and anywhere! So, in theory their employees can access information on websites hosted with them (possibly credit card details) and IXHosting will not give any assurances that this information wont be misused ! - not good !! About The Hosting Itself it is very Good It Got One Click Install Option with Various Scripts. Just as Free Web Hosting Costumer The MySQL support is disabled for free until you pay for it .. 5 Thumbs Down Absolutely the worst hosting service we have ever experienced! We have been with them for over 5 years now and we have stayed with them because of their very unique easy to use website builder that is built in to the service. Since Jan of 2008 everything has become a nightmare--emails do not work, the site is down more than it is up and the arrogance of the tech support knows no boundaries. 2-3 hour wait times for customer service only to be told that they are going to elevate this to their technicians etc... I have read the other complaints in this rant forum and I certainly mirror their complaints. 5 Thumbs Down When I first signed up they were great. Now - with every little thing that happens (including botched server transfers and upgrades) you are either faced with over an hour on hold (and then told to submit an email) or to do the live chat - which after 5-9 times has averaged well over 45 minutes before a human helps me. Its bad but not sure where to go....perhaps back to carrier pidgeons. I will say that I am no stranger to hosting and was a sales exec for an ISP and at Microsoft so I do know a little about technology and usually cut folks a big break.
