Host Name: Brinkster Comments: 100best stated that "They also offer paid hosting options and of course hope you will eventually want to upgrade." I have to say that if you plan on getting any kind of traffic at all on your site using the free hosting option, you will *have* to upgrade to a paid service. I started recieving 10 hits a day on my site, and soon found that it went down on a daily basis due to exceeding bandwidth limits. I eventually had to upgrade to a paid service, and then I found that the support (which was pretty good up to this point) stank. If your site won\'t get a lot of hits or if you have a basic html-only site without a lot of photos or graphics, brinkster should be great for you. However, if you expect to get a lot of hits or have a graphics-rich site, I do not reccomend this webhost provider at all.

Host Name: Brinkster Comments: Protesting against Brinskster Well I also thought they were add free but to my dismay just recently they put up one of those banners that stick on the right side of each page completely covering the content. It looks horrible and decreases the effort one puts into making the pages... I have complained though little good will it do me, I mean who listens, who pays attention to little people! "Want no add? Give us money!" they'll say...

Host Name: Brinkster Comments: Brinkster has a good free service, would be better with FTP service but internal service is ok. Ads has been ad recently. They look a little bit of those like geocities

Host Name: Brinkster Comments: Brinkster offers excellent free web hosting. Plenty of space (the free option comes with 30MB!), reliability and no annoying ads, banners or pop-up windows. I have been using it for a long time and I haven't experienced any difficulty or trouble at all. The only drawback is the browser-based uploader (FTP uploading is available for paid options only) which can seriously test your patience. Overall, a brilliant host. Go for it.

Host Name: Brinkster Comments: I`ve had a paid account for three years with them. Mostly it`s been fine service, because I needed no help. Small site, 20 user email accounts. In the last two months though, the email service has been down more than up, my 20 users are leaving en mass, and service has been unintelligible in their `chat` sessions. I`m paying $15.95 a month. I`m currently looking at other options.

Host Name: Brinkster Comments: I`ve been using Brinkster for more than five years. The realtime online support was good, admin interface was simple and user friendly, quality / price ratio was high. I recommended the service to many people. But one thing clouded everything: Their last email server upgrade. It`s a complete mess. Now it`s been more than one month, they are still working on it and we still can`t use our emails appropriately. We were only able to use our mailboxes from time to time. Because of long queues we weren`t able to reach online support nor use web based email interface. I`m sorry but I will not recommend Brinkster to anybody anymore. |
